Dental composite
When the cavity left by decay or unsightly amalgam is small, the tooth is restored with composite material. Dental composite is a tooth-colored resin bonded with a special adhesive.
They come in a variety of shades, very close to the different colors of teeth.

The treatment
The infected tooth is cleaned and then filled with a composite material. The aesthetic and chewing functions of the tooth are restored for around ten years.
Once discouraged on posterior teeth because it shrank, dental composite is now perfectly watertight to avoid the risk of recurrence of decay.
However, they require longer and more rigorous processing than amalgam. When the technique is well mastered, the aesthetic result is optimal, with a reconstruction similar to the natural tooth.
