Endodontic re-treatment
When initial endodontic treatment appears inadequate or has failed, a tooth should be retreated by removing any root canal filling material and re-cleaning, shaping and re-filling the canals. On a crowned tooth, the prosthesis must be removed.
This new treatment is indicated after a rigorous clinical examination that eliminates non-endodontic causes of failure.
